Transitions are free speed
Unlike the swim, bike or run, you can get faster in transition without being fitter. Lay your kit out the same way every time, rehearse the sequence, and keep it simple. On a long-course day a calm, practised transition is worth minutes — and those minutes count against every cutoff.
